We currently have two job openings at The Dovecote Café here at The Walled Garden.

Sous Chef

Join our vibrant team at The Dovecote Café based in The Walled Garden in Dorset. We’re looking for a Sous Chef to become an integral part of our operations, and continue to help us develop the great reputation we’ve been building.

– No split shifts

– No night shifts

– Healthcare plan available.

–  Beautiful location!

– Closed over Christmas & New Year.

Main purpose of job: To assist the head chef in the smooth operation of the Dovecote Cafe kitchen and running the kitchen and directing other staff and students on his days off.

Key tasks:

– Working along side the head chef and running the kitchen on his days off

– Cooking from the menu – Assisting with new menu ideas and specials

– Daily food preparation

– Ordering from suppliers and keeping within budgets

– Ensuring the required daily paperwork is complete

– Working with students and service users ensuring they receive quality and relevant work experience whilst in your teams care

– Reporting any safeguarding concerns

Full time, 40 hours/week. 5 days over 7 days. From £23,000 per annum depending on experience. 32 days annual holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) – pro-rata for part time staff. NB. This role requires some Bank Holiday working.

Kitchen Assistant / Cook

We’re looking for a an Kitchen Assistant / Cook to become an integral part of our operations and be a welcoming face to our customers.

– No split shifts

– No night shifts

– Healthcare plan available.

Main purpose of job role: To assist in the smooth operation and running of the Dovecote Café kitchen and front of house.

Key tasks:· Daily food preparation · Working as part of a team and assisting the head chef & sous chef with cooking from the menu · Ordering from suppliers · Serving customers when needed · Preparing drinks when needed · Clearing tables when needed · Pot washing when needed · Working with students and service users ensuring they receive quality and relevant work experience whilst in your team’s care.

Full time role. 40 hours/week 32 days annual holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays) – pro-rata for part-time staff. NB. This role requires some Bank Holiday working.

From £9.35 per hour depending on experience.
