Admission Update

Dear visitors,
You may have noticed new ‘Suggested Admission’ signs at entry for The Walled Garden. We just wanted to offer some clarity on these, and how entry to the gardens works. This is a suggested admission donation, payable in the café. Regular visitors will know we have relied on donations since we first opened, all of which goes directly back into the continued development of our site here at Employ My Ability and our education programmes. Since we opened our gates, we have always made free entry and free parking a part of the experience here in Moreton, and we’re proud to say that since those early days, the gardens and wider attractions we offer have developed into what we feel are a much more diverse and unique place to visit!
The development and maintenance of the gardens alone is a huge undertaking which our garden team, and students all work together to look after. In recent years we have added animals to the site, refurbished and extended the café and its facilities, we’ve expanded our range or products available in the garden shop, and expanded our calendar of events, with a view to always try and make these events bigger and better! All of this requires dedicated staff across a wide range of roles, and as the site grows, so do the resources required to keep things ticking along. All donations received go back into making the site here at Moreton the best it can be both for our learners at the college, and visitors looking for a day out, so all we’re doing is encouraging the donations more visibly. The gardens are still FREE entry, and we won’t be turning anybody away – all we ask is you consider what we offer as a destination to visit, and kindly ask for this small donation to help ensure the stability and future of the site.
Thanks for your continued support over the years, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
