Animal Keeper Club – for juniors and early teens!

Animal Keeper Club – for juniors and early teens!

Do your children have a soft spot for animals? Are they the kind of kids who can’t walk past a goat without saying hello, or who talk about becoming a vet or a zookeeper when they grow up? Our Keeper Clubs are just for them!

This summer, we’re inviting children aged 8 to 15 to join Chrissy our Animal Care Technician for an unforgettable, hands-on learning and fun experience.

From the curious chickens and chilled out Kunekune pigs, to the cheeky Pygmy goats, playful ferrets and our family of reptiles living peacefully in the Bug and Reptile Shed, Keeper Club members will get the chance to care for a variety of friendly animals, learning what it really takes to keep them happy and healthy.

Whether they’re mad about animals or starting to explore future careers, these sessions are a brilliant way to build confidence, responsibility and real-life skills, all while spending some quality time outdoors.

Junior Keeper Club is a fun and interactive introduction to animal care, designed specifically for children. Along the way, children will learn how to handle each animal gently and with confidence, gaining a real sense of achievement and making both furry and human friends along the way!

Keepers in Training for ages 12-15 years

1.30pm – 4.00pm

Our Keepers in Training sessions are perfect for older children who are seriously passionate about animals. They may even be starting to think about animal care as a future career path. These 2.5-hour sessions offer a deeper dive into animal care, with time spent feeding, grooming and mucking out, as well as learning about animal health and handling techniques. Chrissy will also show them how to create enrichment and activities to keep our animals engaged and happy, from fruit kebabs to willow treats and more.

It’s a fun, challenging and rewarding experience they’ll never forget.
