December is in full swing, and we are all feeling very festive here are The Walled Garden. If you’re looking for some family-friendly fun, during the run-up to Christmas, then we’ve got you covered! Here are FIVE reasons to pay us a visit this month!
1 – Christmas Trail
Our Christmas Trail is on until (and including) Monday 22nd December. Festive explorers can seek out the 9 reindeer hidden around the gardens to uncover the mystery word. They can test their knowledge by answering some winter and Christmas themed questions along the way! Maps are £3 from the café and every map is guaranteed a prize!

2 – Free Christmas Activities
The hut in the family area has been set up to host some more peaceful activities. From colouring sheets to dot-2-dots, wordsearches to spot the differences, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. You can even take part in our Christmas colouring competition (you could win a slice of cake!). The hut will be open every day until Monday 22nd December

3 – Christmas Bug & Exotic Animal Experiences
For anyone looking for an activity that’s a little bit different for this time of year, we are hosting our Christmas Bug & Exotic Animal Experiences! Our very own Animal Expert, Chrissy will be on hand to introduce visitors to some of our more unusual residents such as our Bearded Dragons, Giant Vietnamese Stick Insects, Praying Mantis and more!
Sessions are taking place at 10am and 2pm on Saturday 20th December – book now via Eventbrite to avoid disappointment!

4 – The Tractors have Returned
After a brief hiatus to make way for our Christmas Market, the ride-on tractors have returned! Children aged 3-10 are invited to let off some steam and take a ride on our peddle-powered tractors! They’re free to use, we just ask the grown-ups to keep an eye on the kids for their safety. It’s just across the bridge from our Play Park containing swings, a climbing house and slide for all kids to enjoy and burn off some energy, along with our beautiful willow walk tunnels.

5 – Festive Afternoon Teas and Festive Menu
The Dovecote Café is open until (and including) Monday 22nd December and currently have their Festive Menu available to order!
We’ve got tasty treats such as the Festive Sandwich – with turkey, pigs in blankets, brie and cranberry and our Festive Naanzas! But if you’re looking for a special treat then our Festive Afternoon Teas are available every day from 11am! For £25 per person you’ll be treated to a selection of sandwiches with seasonal fillings alongside some luxurious sweet treats and pastries, plus a pot of hot tea! Booking required a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
