At The Walled Garden and The Dovecote Café, dogs are very much part of the family. Whether you’re visiting as part of a countryside walk, meeting friends for coffee, or enjoying a day out with the family, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcomed across the site.
5 acres for walkies. Dog Bowls. Dog Treats. Doggy Ice Cream. Dog Shows!
We love meeting canine companions of all shapes and sizes and are always delighted to see furry paws and wagging tails enjoying the gardens alongside their humans.
To make visits comfortable for everyone, we provide water bowls across the site, regularly refreshed by our team, and in the café, you’ll find a jar of dog treats you’re welcome to help yourself to. Doggy ice cream is also available to purchase, always popular during the warmer months, because no one should miss out on a treat!
We’ve also made it easy to keep the gardens clean, with a dedicated dog waste bin near the stone archway leading into the family area, along with additional bins located around the site.
For the safety and enjoyment of all our visitors, our students at EMA and the animals in Animal Acre, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Any dogs found off-lead will be politely asked by a member of staff to be put back on a lead. Repeated incidents will result in owners being asked to leave the premises.
By following these simple guidelines, you help us keep The Walled Garden a relaxed, welcoming place for everyone. We can’t wait to welcome you and your dog soon!
Dog Show 2026
SAVE THE DATE! The Dog Show WILL return in 2026, on Sunday 7th June.
Dog Registrations will open in 2026, but right now we’re looking for people to join us for the day in the form of craft stalls, dog related businesses, and food and drink, and family fun!
